Fixing the Tennessee Titans

The Titans continue their perpetual hell of a fringe franchise QB with Will Levis going into 2024. But I think this season could be different. They have a new offensive-minded HC with Brian Callahan and they have some resources (the most cap space of any team) to help Will suceed.

With their staffing in place, I have some suggestions on how they can continue building into next season...

Free Agency/Trades: Laying the Ground Work

Currently, I don't see any players that would make sense for them to trade, so let's jump into free agency, where the Titans need to be spending some money and adjusting their roster.

Notable Free Agents and What I Would Do ($78,524,381 in Cap Space)

  • Ryan Tannehill (QB) ❌ Let Walk

  • Derrick Henry (RB) ❌ Let Walk

  • Denico Autry (DE) ❌ Let Walk

  • Azeez Al-Shaair (LB) ✅ Re-Sign

  • Nick Westbrook (WR) ✅ Re-Sign

  • DeAndre Hopkins (WR) ✅ Restructure

  • Malik Willis (QB) ❌ Release

Notable Free Agent Signing I Would Make ($78,524,381 in Cap Space)

  • Sam Darnold (QB)

  • A.J. Dillon (RB)

  • Tyler Boyd (WR)

  • Braxton Berrios (WR)

  • Drew Sample (TE)

  • Robert Hunt (OG)

  • Bryce Huff (DE)

  • Levi Wallace (CB)

  • Dasne Jackson (CB)

  • Geno Stone (S)

The "Big" Spending comes on the defensive side, but there are some noticeable offensive decisions as well. There is still the draft ahead!

NFL Draft: Solidify Will Levis and his Environment

The Titans are in a great spot in the draft to take a Top WR/OT, and they have plenty of later picks as well.

Titans 2024 Draft Picks

  • 1st Round (#7 Overall)

  • 2nd Round (#38 Overall)

  • 4th Round (#107 Overall)

  • 5th Round (#145 Overall)

  • 6th Round (#184 Overall)

  • 7th Round (#219 Overall)

  • 7th Round (#240 Overall)

In my Titans mock, I have them drafting (OT) Olu Fashanu in the 1st Round and then (WR) Xavier Legette in the 2nd Round. In the 4th Round, ideally they would take a DB like Max Melton or Khyree Jackson.

Altogether, here is what the revamped OFFENSE would look like;

QB - Will Levis + Sam Darnold

RB - Tyjae Spears + AJ Dillon + Hassaan Haskins

WR1 - DeAndre Hopkins + Treylon Burks

WR2 - Xavier Legette + Nick Westbrook

SWR - Tyler Boyd + Kyle Phillips + Braxton Berrios

TE - Chigoziem Okonkwo + Drew Sample

With these moves and an improved offensive plan, this is a team geared towards trending upward. If they are anything but a playoff team with this roster, then Will Levis is probably not your guy.

Fantasy Implications

Will Levis 📈

Tyjae Spears 📈

DeAndre Hopkins ↔️

Tyler Boyd ↔️
