The TOP Waiver Wire Adds for Week Fifteen of the NFL Season

Updated: Dec 15, 2020

In a 2020 season riddled with injuries, it is even more vital that we, as fantasy owners, ensure that in the case of an injury we have good depth. Picking up the right guys on the waiver wire can make you win your league. In 2017, picking up Alvin Kamara may have seemed crazy to some and yet he finished as the RB3. The waiver wire is where leagues are won and I am here to give suggestions on intriguing fantasy options. For every player on this list, the ownership is below 50% on ESPN. Depending on how active or knowledgable your league is, these players may or may not be available however I tried to put some guys that will definitely be on the waiver wire in your league. Now let’s dive into this week’s pick ups.

Running Backs to Target:

Cam Akers: 55% owned

I know he is above the 50% limit however he needs to be rostered in all leagues. I want you to make sure he isn’t available in your league any longer simply because of how dominant he has been of late. He just had 171 rushing yards against a very respectable New England Patriots defense. Please check your waivers and make sure to add him to your playoff roster as soon as physically possible.

Jeff Wilson Jr.: 8% owned

Wilson is a touchdown machine as he has four touchdowns on just 68 carries this season. I think Wilson needs to be rostered as he offers depth at one of the shallowest positions in fantasy especially at this stage of the season. He is not getting a ton of carries this year but regardless his potential touchdown upside makes him worth owning in fantasy.

Lynn Bowden Jr.: 1 % owned

Bowden has taken on a huge role as of last including a seven reception game for 82 yards. Additionally, Bowden had nine total targets not to mention how he had four targets the week before for 40+ yards. Look to target Bowden for a guy who can play running back and wide receiver for your fantasy squad. I think he can provide great depth and value given his new role on the squad.

Wide Receivers to Target:

Nelson Agholor: 28% owned

Agholor has revived his career in Las Vegas and just capped it off with a five reception game in which he had 100 yards receiving and a touchdown. He has 4+ targets each of the last four weeks not to mention how he has 38+ yards in each of those games as well. Pick him up because he could potentially win you your league if you are in need of a flex play. Agholor seems to have a reliable target share and has the ability to make huge play down the field.

Chad Hansen: 3% owned

The former third round pick is finally getting his chance to shine as he has seven receptions in back to back games. Hansen has erupted in replacement of Will Fuller and I think he is an amazing flex value for your fantasy squad. He had 101 yards receiving two weeks ago and 57 yards receiving this past week. Pick him up while you still have the chance and he can win you your playoff games if given a similar opportunity in upcoming weeks.

Russell Gage: 12% owned

With Julio Jones done for the year someone has to absorb the wide receiver’s targets and Gage seems to have filled that role. He had five receptions for 82 yards this past week and has shown big play upside earlier in the year when Julio was down with injury as well. Gage is worth a bench spot and has the potential to put up weekly flex value and potentially even low-end WR2 value at the most.

KJ Hamler: 7% owned

Hamler is pretty much a dart throw week to week but he has massive big play upside as shown by his two reception game for 86 yards and a touchdown. I think he’s worth the pick up in case you have an injury and want someone who can potentially put up huge point totals. Hamler is finally healthy and Lock seems to like him as a wide receiver. Hamler is definitely worth being on rosters for his big play ability.

Tight Ends to Target:

Cole Kmet: 4% owned

Kmet has had a huge target share with Trubisky as the starter as he has seven targets in each of the last two games and even has a touchdown in one of those games. Kmet is one of a few tight ends even worth looking at on the waiver wire and Kmet can give you good output if you truly are in need of a tight end this late in the season. He won’t be around for long so make sure to pick him up this week.

Dan Arnold: 1% owned

Arnold has three touchdowns in the past two weeks and I think he has a ton of upside as a touchdown-dependent tight end for your playoff run. He won’t get you a ton of receptions or yards but similar to Hamler he is a bit of a dart throw who can give you big output if you are willing to take a risk that he doesn’t put up more than five points in a given week. Arnold definitely has some big play upside this year.
