Happy Halloween!
Let's hope for less tricks and more treats in Week 8! Stay safe and good luck!
START ✅ Brandon Aiyuk @ SEA
The Seattle Seahawks are allowing a league-high 368.7 Yards per game through the air. Last week, rookie Brandon Aiyuk tied George Kittle with 7 Targets. With Deebo Samuel out for the foreseeable future, Aiyuk is strong WR2 play in a great matchup.
START ✅ Carson Wentz vs DAL
If it didn’t seem possible before, the Eagles are finally getting healthier! Rookie WR Jalen Reagor and TE Dallas Goedert are returning to the lineup, which does help Wentz’ value. Not that he needs the extra help against what is THE worst defense in the entire NFL. Top 5-10 QB this week..
START ✅ Le’Veon Bell vs NYJ
There isn’t really to much to this other than just a revenge game on its purest form. Like everyone else (including Vegas who has the Chiefs as 19.5 Point favorites), I’m expecting KC to play the Jets out of the water. Bell looked good in his KC debut last week, and I’m sure the coaching staff will let Bell get a couple extra looks. If there’s one game you start Bell this season, it’s this one.
START ✅ Travis Fulgham vs DAL
So I already went over how bad Dallas is, but let’s continue that talk. Last week with Kyle Allen, Terry recorded 7 Catches for 90 Yards and a TD. He really almost had 2 TDs but was a yard short. Regardless, even with Reagor and Goedert coming off IR, I’m confident Wentz will continue to look Fulgham’s way. He’s had 10+ targets in three straight weeks.
START ✅ Jared Cook @ CHI
The Saints WR depth chart is as follows, Michael Thomas (OUT), Emmanuel Sanders (OUT/COVID), Marquez CALLAWAY (OUT), Tre’Quan Smith, and Deonte Harris. The Saints have no one at WR right now, which leads me to believe he will look more towards RBs and TEs. Plus the Bears have allowed a TD to a TE in 5/7 Games this season. The two they weren’t was Evan Engram (Daniel Jones didn’t throw any TDs in that game and Engram still had over 10 Points), and Ian Thomas (sees two targets a game if lucky).
DESPERATE STARTS;
- J.K. Dobbins vs PIT
I’m not sure why I just have a good feeling about Dobbins. It’s going to be a competitive game and Dobbins has had more targets (14) than any other Ravens RB. It’s supposed to be a windy game and with that Steelers front 7 being as good as they are Lamar may need to dump it off. Plus Mark Ingram is out with a high ankle sprain.
- Denzel Mims @ KC
The matchup isn’t bad or good, but it’s the game script and lack of weapons which benefits Mims. The rookie in his debut had a 30% Target share, and the Jets will be without Jamison Crowder and Breshad Perriman in this game.
SIT ❌ Cam Newton @ BUF
Buffalo has not been at all on defense, but my concern lies with Cam playing with Damiere Byrd as his WR1. Both Julian Edelman and N’Keal Harry have been downgraded to OUT, and Cam hasn’t looked good at all since coming off the COVID list. He’ll need a couple of rushing TDs to return value.
SIT ❌ Drew Brees @ CHI
I spoke about his lack of weapons before, and to add insult to injury the Windy City will be in full effect tomorrow around the time of the game. Heavy winds are expected, which can put a dagger into Brees’ playing ability already outside of the dome and into the 30 degree weather.
SIT ❌ Jerick McKinnon @ SEA
After this game, McKinnon will likely be droppable. He’s apparently dealing with “tired knees” from being overworked early on in the year. UDFA JaMycal Hasty is in for a larger role, as well as Tevin Coleman being activated off IR.
SIT ❌ Devin Singletary vs NE
The Patriots have been middle of the road when it comes to defending the running game, but Singletary has been “middle of the road” on the field as well. Zack Moss closed the gap last week brining the snaps to a 54/47 split just behind Singletary. Moss looked like the better RB, and continue to see an increased role going forward.
SIT ❌ DeVante Parker vs LAR
Parker has actually been pretty matchup-proof with Ryan Fitzpatrick at QB, and although I LOVE Tua, we just don’t know where he’s going to look with the ball, and how he’s going to look with the ball. Plus a matchup against Jalen Ramsey doesn’t help either, especially with a rookie QB making his debut.
LOWER EXPECTATIONS;
- David Montgomery vs NO
With increasingly poor QB play, defenses have been able to key in on Monty, stopping him from having any kind of success on the ground. The Saints are also Top 5 against defending the run. Monty will need 4-5 catches this game to be relevant.
- Lamar Jackson vs PIT
Maybe not a name you expected to see, but Lamar has a VERY tough matchup against the best run defense in the NFL. It’s also expected to be quite windy in Baltimore as well, which doesn’t help his already shaky passing attack. Pittsburgh will be able to key into Lamar’s rushing attack and I expect him to struggle.
